Investments in 2007

The following foreign-owned companies have set up in Copenhagen in 2007 by November 20th:

Acando Denmark, Sweden

The Swedish IT consultancy firm has opened a new subsidiary in Copenhagen. It is the goal for Acando Denmark within a year to expand the business to 10 to 15 highly qualified consultants.

Alphabet, Germany

The BMW Group international fleet service provider, Alphabet has set up a new office in Copenhagen as part of its expansion plan.

Arinso, Belgium

The Belgian company for human resources solutions has opened a new office in Copenhagen.

Assistera, Sweden

The Swedish consultancy firm specialized within IT system development projects has established a Copenhagen office.

Barclays, UK

Until now the British finance house has handled Nordic activities from their head office in London, but Copenhagen will now be the centre of Nordic activities from the financial giant.

Biogen Idec, USA

The US based pharmaceutical company has expanded its pharmaceutical plant in Hillerød north of Copenhagen with laboratories production functions and logistics facilities.

Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, USA

Cantor Fitzgerald is the first ever global stock broking company to open a Nordic office in Copenhagen. Cantor Fitzgerald wishes to serve Nordic stocks with international clients and international stocks with Nordic clients.

Clash-Media A/S, UK

The UK-based online lead-generation company has opened a new office in Copenhagen. The office is to enable local UK companies to generate sales leads from the Scandinavian market with the main barrier for lead generation being the strict rules for direct marketing.

Equal logic, USA

The US based software company specialized within providing mid-size businesses and large enterprises with storage area network (SAN) solutions.

Glitnir, Iceland

The Icelandic bank has co-located a new equity business unit at its existing location in Copenhagen.

Hamilton Robotics, USA

The American med-tech company opens a Scandinavian sales office in Copenhagen. Hamilton Robotics’ core competence is developing, producing and selling fully automated work stations for laboratories.

Helpdesk Datasupport, Sweden

The fast growing Swedish support company providing distance support and helpdesk services opens a Copenhagen sales office.

Huawei Technologies, China

The leading provider of next generation telecommunications networks opens a Danish sales office in Copenhagen.

HypoVereinsbank Danmark, Italy

The Italian banking group UniCredit has established its first presence in the Nordic region with a spearhead in Copenhagen under the name of HypoVereinsbank Danmark

Innotec Denmark, Germany

Due to the growing interest for the company’s products in the Nordic area the German based software provider has chosen to establish a Scandinavian headquarters in Allerød north of Copenhagen.

Marsh, USA

The New York based insurance broker and risk advisor New York-based Marsh & McLennan Companies, has established a captive insurance management and advisory facility in Copenhagen to serve the Nordic region.

MHT Baugesellschaft GmbH, Germany

The mid-size German based craftsman company has established its Nordic Headquarters in Copenhagen. The geographic location of Copenhagen in relation to the other Scandinavian countries was the main reason for the choice of Copenhagen as the centre for the company’s Scandinavian activities.

Merial Norden A/S, USA

The US based producer and developer of vaccines for animals and other veterinary medical products has taken over its own sales and marketing activities that have formerly been handled by a local Scandinavian distributor. The company has now established a new Nordic organisation located in Skovlunde close to Copenhagen.

Mozilla USA

Firefox, a competitor to Microsoft Internet Explorer, is to be redeveloped from Denmark. The Mozilla company behind Firefox will now establish a development office in Copenhagen.

Oban Multilingual, UK

British world leader in multilingual SEO, multilingual search and all forms of international online marketing opens a sales office in Copenhagen.

Oncotech, USA

American cancer diagnostics company has set up a facility in Symbion, Copenhagen with the initial goal to market their services in Europe.

OrbusNeich, Hong Kong

The Hong Kong based producer of scientific instruments opens a sales office on Copenhagen.

Phoenix Film Investments ApS, UK

The London based film company has established a company in Copenhagen with the goal of finding international film projects connected to Scandinavia.

PPD Denmark, USA

North Carolina-based drug discovery firm PPD Inc has announced the opening of an office in Copenhagen. PPD is an international provider of drug discovery and development services.

RAE Systems Europe, USA

California-based RAE Systems is a global provider of rapidly deployable sensor networks that enable customers to identify safety and security threats. RAE manages European operations from the new facility in Copenhagen.

Sartorius Nordic A/S, Germany

The German based biotech company specializing within filters and filtering, purification, and electrochemical analysis has established Nordic headquarters in Taastrup close to Copenhagen.

SEKO, USA

The US based logistics provider has established a new Nordic distribution centre and collection centre in Copenhagen for overseas buyers.

SVP Worldwide, Sweden/USA

The Swedish/American leader in the design, manufacture, and distribution of consumer and artisan sewing machines and accessories has established a common Nordic customer centre in Herlev close to Copenhagen.

TAL Aviation, Sweden

The leading airlines’ representation company TAL Aviation has opened a sales office in Copenhagen.

Watson Marlow Bredel, UK

The UK based hose pump manufacturer has established a new sales and marketing office in Copenhagen.

ZeroChaos, USA

The US based recruitment company has opened a new office in Copenhagen.
