Danish industries have confidence in the future
26-06-2008
Economy:
n May, the industrial confidence index from Dilf - the Danish Purchasing and Logistics Forum - raised almost 50 per cent to 62,2 from 48,5 the month before. It is the greatest movement in at least seven years, writes the financial daily Børsen.
The progress at 21,4 percentage point indicates improved increase in activities. A value exceeding 50 indicates expansion in industrial activities, says the monthly Dilf-barometer.
The progress is particularly within production where the confidence has more than doubled from 32,6 in April to 80,6 in May. An increase to the highest level in three years.
Also in terms of new orders a new offensive is launched. Here the increase is more than 50 per cent to index 68,5 in May.
“ The index hereby shows the same indications of growth as in the beginning of 2008 and indicates that the industrial businesses are experiencing progress in intake of orders,” it says in the Dilf- report.
The Dilf-index is known to show big fluctuations from month to month but not often as important as in May.
