Expat in Denmark – new network to retain foreigners in Danish companies
22-07-2008

Society and living:

Dansk Erhverv - the Danish Chamber of Commerce – is launching a new network with the aim of retaining the growing number of international employees who are appointed in Danish companies.

“The companies too often experience that valued foreign employees leave Denmark again after a short time. It is not only expensive to the companies – it is also a great loss to the Danish society. Consequently, we would like to turn around this tendency with the new network ‘Expat in Denmark’,” explains managing director Katia K. Østergaard from the employers’ organization Dansk Erhverv in a press release.

Dansk Erhverv’s goal with the network is especially to support the social aspect and create a virtual forum as well as face-to-face meetings where international employees as well as companies can meet to exchange experiences.

On the network’s website www.expatindenmark.com all interested employees and companies can sign up and find out when the network meetings take place. Moreover, the home page has a hotline for questions from international employees as well as a blog where expats can share their experiences.
