The well developed and high quality network of roads, railways, airports and harbours has earned Denmark a top ranking in terms of distribution for several consecutive years. No other Scandinavian location offers similar connectivity and access to distribution networks.

Copenhagen Airport offers the largest number of direct intercontinental, European as well as Scandinavian and Baltic flight connections. In 2004, about 19m passengers passed through the airport in Copenhagen, making it the largest in Northern Europe. In terms of cargo volume, the airport is also the largest in Scandinavia with up-to-date terminals and inter-modal transport systems linking air, sea, road and railway transport.

In 2004 the international air transport organisation IATA has rated Copenhagen Airport the best airport in Europe for fourth year in a row and the second-best in the world on factors such as overall passenger satisfaction, service and travel times between the airport and the city centre. Additionally, in 2005 the readers of the German magazine Business Traveller, aimed at “frequent flyers”, have elected Copenhagen Airport as Europe’s best airport for third year in a row.

IMD's World Competitiveness Yearbook measures industrialists' perceptions of the efficiency of distribution infrastructure on a global basis. The survey includes road, rail, air and sea transport.
